Dayspring I Apartments is a 236-based project with 110 units, of which 74 are subsidized based on 30% of applicants’ income.  106 units are one bedroom, with the remaining four being two bedrooms.

Dayspring Apartments opened in 1975, with the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) charged with oversight of the project.

Dayspring II Apartments is a Section 515 project, overseen by Rural Development, and opened in 1981.  It has 108 units, all one bedroom, all subsidized based on 30% of applicants’ income.

Dayspring Apartments currently has a very short waiting list for apartments for qualified applicants.  Should you or someone you know be in need of housing, further information may be obtained by stopping at our Tioga Avenue main office, or by calling (607) 936-6239.

Dayspring Apartments consists of 218 units for the elderly, or handicapped or disabled of all ages. Located on Columbia Street and Tioga Avenue, we are in close proximity to the Corning Business District, Police Headquarters and Market Street.

Our two buildings have active Resident’s Associations hosting coffee hours, dinners and a variety of other social activities.  We do have a bus that takes tenants to Wegmans on Wednesdays. 

Each building has a large well-equipped Community Room for residents’ use, with adjacent kitchen facilities. Laundry areas and sites for disposal of refuse are located inside, on each floor, with nearby elevators available for transportation between floors.

To qualify for residency at either Dayspring I or Dayspring II one must be elderly (62 years of age or older), disabled, or handicapped.  However, anyone is welcome to apply for housing, regardless of eligibility standards.

With buildings located on Columbia St. and E. Tioga Avenue, we are across the street from the Southeast Steuben County Library, the Corning Police Department headquarters, and are in close proximity to the Corning business district.

Dayspring II also hosts the Senior Dinner Program on weekdays, available to all Dayspring residents.
